George was born in Yorkshire in 1898. In 1911 he was a sea apprentice on the Indefatigable TS in the Mersey, and he made the MN his career. He married in Lancaster in 1916. in 1921 he was working at Heysham Harbour for the LMS. He died in Hospital in Glasgow in 1944. some of his records have survived including his medal issue card from WW2.
