Born in 1890, Robert joined the Army in September 1914, going to France in late September 1915. Robert was wounded on 12 June 1918 and was demobilised in February 1919. He worked as a dock Labourer at Heysham Harbour and lived at Hampton Road Sandylands. He seems to have been unmarried.
He died of heart disease, 26 November 1919, aged 29 years.
