VE Day
Tuesday 8 May 1945 marked the Allies acceptance of the unconditional surrender of Germany's armed forces ending the Second World War in Europe. Although a momentous occasion, it was tempered by the ongoing conflict in the Far East and the many service personnel who did not return to the enjoy peace they had fought so hard for.
